HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point: a way of managing food production that predicts and analyses, in advance, where in the process contamination or foreign matter is most likely to occur, and controls those points so that harm never reaches the product. Implementing it takes twelve defined steps.
We adopted it in 2000, ahead of the companies around us, because we could see where export markets were heading. In 2015 our scallop plant was approved as an EU-HACCP facility for export to the European Union; we are also approved for the United States.

We have held ISO 22000, the international standard for food safety management systems, since 2009. Potential risks are assessed and controlled at every step, so that quality and safety do not depend on any one person being careful on any one day.

Our scallop plant was certified in 2016. Product carrying the MSC claim can be traced back through our processing to a fishery certified as sustainable — increasingly a condition of listing for European and North American retailers.
Scallop products were certified Halal in 2019, which opens Muslim-majority markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East without a separate sourcing arrangement.

We work with freight forwarders we have used for years and coordinate international shipping on your behalf. Sea freight leaves from the Port of Tomakomai; air freight from New Chitose Airport. Both FOB and CFR terms are supported, so we can fit the way your side is set up rather than asking you to fit ours.
